Tino Rangatiratanga Origins - Local Native Skate Range
Hiraina Marsden, Jan Dobson and Linda Munn designed what became known as the tino rangatiratanga flag in 1989. The black represents Te Kore (the void), the space beyond the world of everyday experience. White represents Te Ao Marama, the world of light
Reddish brown represents Papatuānuku- the earth mother. The white represents Te Ao Marama and the koru reminds us that life is continually in renewal and ongoing. Black represents Ranginui- the sky father. No matter what, there is a natural order in the universe- the earth and sky embrace the world of the living. The natural colours and its simplistic depiction of the world led to an early acceptance of the flag by many MĀORI in different walks of life.
Also known as the flag that represents the Maori Nation and to be proud Maori. Especially when Maori are discriminated against.

Local Neighborhood Japanese Samurai Warrior Skateboards
In pre-Meiji Restoration Japan, some Samurai armor incorporated a horned, plumed or crested helmet. These horns, used to identify military commanders on the battlefield, could be cast from metal, or made from genuine water buffalo horns.
An LNS design to honor the Samurai Warriors that stood for righteousness and protectors of the land
